Polytrol is a high-quality color restorer for dull or faded surfaces, including gelcoats. It has been specially developed to restore the original color and appearance of surfaces that have become dull and attacked by sunlight, rain, and environmental influences.

The deeply penetrating oil revitalizes the material from the inside out and restores gelcoat, plastic, metal, and other surfaces to their original finish. At the same time, Polytrol reliably protects against corrosion and unsightly stains. On bare metals, it restores the natural shine and forms a protective layer against renewed corrosion damage.

The product is ideal for use on fiberglass (GRP) and can be used in a variety of marine applications.

Properties

  • restores the original color without a greasy or oily sheen
  • penetrates deep into the pores and completely wets the substrate (unlike polishes or waxes, which only "sit" on the surface)
  • forms a hard, dry film on the surface
  • apply – allow to soak in – wipe off excess POLYTROL – done
  • silicone-free

Areas of application

  • for all surfaces that look color-intensive and like new when wet
  • cleaning of weathered internal and external surfaces made of
  • thermoplastic (soft) and thermosetting (hard) plastics (including gelcoat)
  • regeneration of painted surfaces that have become chalky or dull (including powder coatings)
  • protection and care of aluminum, chrome (e.g., rims), stainless steel, brass, copper, stainless steel

  • Suitability: All types of plastic surfaces, painted surfaces, aluminum, chrome, stainless steel, brass, copper
  • Processing conditions: max. 25°C substrate temperature, no direct strong sunlight; application on dry substrate possible even below 0°C
  • Tools: soft brush, lint-free cloth, steel wool (for metal)
  • Cleaning: with suitable thinner (as long as not dried)
  • Dilution: apply undiluted only
  • Yield: approx. 10 to 20 m²/liter (for metals up to 30 m²/liter)
  • Drying time: at 20°C approx. 2 hours
Processing
  • Preparation: Surfaces to be sealed must be dry, clean, and free of grease and oil; cover adjacent surfaces; if necessary, wash off uncured POLYTROL with white spirit.
  • Recommendations before application: Remove yellowing and dirt with OWATROL PURATROL and rinse thoroughly with fresh water; on light and white surfaces, test in advance due to the slightly yellowish inherent color of POLYTROL.
  • Application for plastics: Apply evenly with a brush, cloth, or spray can until the pore structure is saturated (possibly several applications). After a maximum of 10 minutes, rub the surface dry with an absorbent, lint-free cloth, removing excess POLYTROL. Metals: Work with the finest steel wool soaked in POLYTROL. After approx. 15 minutes, remove excess POLYTROL and polish with a lint-free cloth.
  • Care and Maintenance: Excess, dried POLYTROL can be removed with (diluted) OWATROL DILUNETT. For a higher gloss level: use polishing waxes (without abrasives).
