Owatrol Oil
OWATROL OIL is a unique air-drying natural oil with high solids content and extraordinarily good penetrating properties. OWATROL OIL displaces moisture and air from the rust pores and penetrates even thick layers of rust down to "healthy" metal.
OWATROL OIL is an extremely deep-penetrating and completely elastically curing oil, which can be overcoated with solvent-based paints after drying, and with water-based paints after complete drying.

- Storage: Shelf life approx. 3 years, in sealed original container. Store opened containers upside down. Do not transfer to plastic containers!

- Application temperature: -10-+35°C on dew- and ice-free surfaces
- Drying time at 20°C: Touch dry 6-8 hours. Recoatable after 12-24 hours. For subsequent water-based paints, at least 7 days. Different temperatures and humidity can lead to a significant change in the drying process.
- Tools: Brush, roller, spray gun
- Cleaning of tools: Immediately after use with universal primer.
- Suitability: Corroded surfaces of iron, steel, cast iron, stainless steel and light metal. Should be overcoated or cyclically supplemented for permanent weathering. Not suitable for areas constantly exposed to water.

Safety instructions: See label and EN safety data sheet. Cloths soaked with air-drying oils can self-ignite, therefore always spread out to dry before disposal or collect in sealed metal containers
Processing
- Surface Pre-treatment: The surface should be free of grease and substances that reduce adhesion, such as waxes or polishing and cleaning agents. Non-adhering old coatings must be completely removed. Mechanically clean the surface. Do not remove firmly adhering rust, as this is a prerequisite for optimal function.
- Application: Apply OWATROL OIL generously, if necessary in several wet-on-wet coats, until the existing rust is saturated and "filled" to its full thickness. Film formation should be avoided. Remove any excess with an absorbent cloth 20-30 minutes after the last application. An optimally sealed surface will appear semi-gloss.
- Care and Maintenance: Areas that have been protected with OWATROL OIL only, without subsequent coatings, must be supplemented from time to time with another application of OWATROL OIL, depending on weathering. This is necessary as soon as the first rust spots emerge from the coating, i.e., when it no longer appears uniformly semi-gloss.

Disposal: Only dispose of emptied containers for recycling. Liquid material residues should be handed in at collection points for old paints/varnishes. Completely dried material can be disposed of as construction and demolition waste or as municipal or household waste. Never allow paint and varnish residues to enter the sewage system or water bodies. Dispose of dried brushes and rollers with household waste.
